Dear Families,
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Adventure Discovery School.
If you’re here, there’s a good chance you’ve been searching for a school that truly understands your child—not just their challenges, but their strengths, potential, and unique way of learning. At ADS, that’s exactly where we begin.
For more than 25 years, I have worked in education, experiential learning, and programs serving young people. Throughout my career, I have seen firsthand how powerful it can be when students are given the opportunity to learn through experience, build meaningful relationships, and discover their own capabilities.
Adventure Discovery School was created for students who thrive when learning is active, engaging, interesting, and connected to the real world. Our students are bright, capable, and full of potential. Many have ADHD, AuDHD, executive function challenges, or learning differences. Too often, traditional schools focus on where these students struggle. At ADS, we focus on where they shine.
Our approach combines personalized academics, outdoor adventure, life skills, travel, and a strong sense of community. Students don’t just learn about leadership, resilience, communication, and problem-solving—they practice these skills every day through meaningful experiences.
As a small school, we have the privilege of truly knowing each student. We celebrate their strengths, support their growth, and challenge them to discover what is possible. Whether in the classroom, on an expedition, volunteering in the community, or exploring a new country, our students are constantly developing the confidence and independence they need for life beyond school.
Our goal is simple: to help our students become capable, resilient young adults who understand themselves, can embrace challenges, and feel prepared for whatever comes next.
